More Happily ever afters and drastic changes!

In the week past a lot has changed! I have taken some extended leave from work, chopped all my hair off and witness some amazing friends get married!

So lets start with the Hair.....I have not had a major hair cut in oh.....5 years or so! I tossed up the idea of having short hair about a year ago and then remembered i'm getting married, better keep it long. So i am now married so i decided to get rid of some unwanted baggage.

I went from this (excuse the face its the only picture i could find that showed how long my hair was)

To this! My hair was so long and thick i could not stand it any longer.

From near my belly button (i dont think the first photo gives it justice) to the Pob.....YAY

Yesterday i saw two very gorgeous people get married! Its so hard going to another wedding so close to my own, so many comparisons. I always knew it would be a beautiful wedding but WOA serious dress envy. But most of all it was romantic and very them, you could feel their love and their personality through the whole ceremony. They are an amazing, Godly couple who i know will have a great marriage and a wonderful family (ridiculously good looking kids in their future).  be I wont be posting pictures of the wedding itself as i am sure she will love to do that herself.

Sunday afternoon Blues

What is the best way to beat the sunday afternoon blues? Shopping.......... grocery shopping? not so much (the first time is fun for newlyweds but it gets old quickly) So what is the best way to make the most out of a sucky situation? CostCo! They have so much more than groceries (Lee jeans for $12). I was a little disappointed in the fact that they dont have much variety, example 1 brand of ice cream and one flavour. The crowds turned me off.......its mob mentality and it makes it hard to shop. We got lots of goodies, my favourite of which is this gem, we got 3 for $19! and seeing as we got our Nespresso Pod machine for our wedding we can now take espresso with us on the way to work!
Was it worth our $60 membership fee?.......i would say yes. We wont have to go shopping again for a month, we had to do a top up shop at Coles but we are covered for everything else.

Since i havent blogged for a long time, i havent been able to share Casa De Carlton or as we call it The Ritz Carlton. So i am going to share some pictures f how it's coming a long. Its very small but perfect for us and a constant work in progress.

 When we rented the apartment, the gentleman that lived here before had some ghastly shelves all along one wall. So we are in the process of covering all the holes with pictures. We are waiting to get our Wedding photo's to fill the rest!

Man I Feel Stupid

I thought my post had saved.....oops!

Anyway sorry for the long time in between i am asking to be excused because of the wedding planning. It has been a long journey (18 months yes thats a year and a half!) of engagement, but its finally done. I am now Mrs Isobelle Carlton. We had the most amazing day, filled with love, friends and fun, and while not everything went right *did i lose enough weight? was my dress perfect? did everyone have fun? do i have a double chin in most of the photo's? (yes)* It helped me realise that the reason for all the stress, drama and a bit of fun was that i got to marry the man of my dreams. I got to stand up in front of my friends and family and promise to love my husband forever and to reflect God in our marriage.

Some of you may know the drama that surrounds my family. I am not close/speaking with my mother, and it was very hard for me during the planning process to not have my mother involved. I did however have my MIL (mother in law) to help me. One thing that i was super stressed about was the fact that i do not have much family, and would any of them be able to come. Well i was surprised by my amazing Aunty, who made the trip all the way from sunny old England to be there ------->

My Grandmother and Grandfather came and so did my Great Aunty traveled all the way from Queensland to be there as well. Another thing that was worrying me, was my dad. He is 75 years old and
not the most mobile gent, he is also painfully shy and all the way though planning the wedding he kept say he didn't want to walk me down the aisle. He put away all his fears and did it! He even had a dance with me at the reception. I know how hard it was for him but i will be forever grateful to him for that.

My bridesmaids......although there was so much drama we had a great time. They all helped and made the day great. 2 of the girls (who are not married) stayed over the night before and along with Sheree we stayed up drinking wine and eating chocolate and watched Bridesmaids......well about 5 mins of it before i fell asleep. It was one of those girly sleepover nights that now we are older we dont get to have much anymore, but i hope to now.......although i dont think Nick will enjoy it as much.

Just during my daily reading, i found this (a moment ago otherwise i would have posted it before) i just love babies breath!!!! i don't know why i haven't seen it sooner. I have already put the call into the florist for the ceremony. I have also found another blog which i am loving. www.theknot.com/commuinty/blog i know a lot of you will know The Knot.com but they also have a wedding obsession blog, it's full of amazing ideas.

Okay so i may have offended some readers with my last post...........It was a total accident and it didn't come out the way it seems.I love the dresses the girls got, even though it wasn't my first choice, they are the dresses that suited the girls and i think they look beautiful. I want everyone to know that my bridesmaids all of them are the most beautiful girls, especially my soon to be sisters! They have stood up and supported me, beyond the call of duty and i am so blessed to have them in my life. I love you girls, despite our differences.

I am back to work this week, after  2 weeks off with quite a bad knee injury. I am easing into it but moving into a different roll at work (yay the direction i wanted to go, and super excited about it), So all this week i am going to be in training.

So this week i am going to go for a trial spray tan, just to prove to Nick that i won't be a cheezle for the day. i personally blame Sophie Monk and Paris Hilton for this stereotype!!

Anyway i have said all i need to say......for now:)

A long time in between

It has been a while....and theres not too many of you to miss me, but here i am!

It is now 72 days till the big day, and i could not be more excited. With so much still to do i.e: Invites, engagement shoot, boys suits, dress alterations,  wedding favours and so much more, me needing surgery on my knee is the last thing i kneaded (geddit?)

Thanks to an amazing workplace, and my new macbook, and daily readings of a lot of wedding blogs, its being done at home.

Since i last posted a lot has happened. Such as me having to say goodbye to my best friend as maid of honour (her huge work commitments and our growing older and apart). The implementation of my 2 favourite girls in the world in her place. Since we had already bought 3 BM dresses that were on sale and discontinued, i have decided to have mismatched BM dresses!

My original dresses are just tea length black party dresses (not my choice......eh). The new ones are going to be completely different, so here are a few of my faves:

The last one is the front runner for me atm but.......we'll see how everyone feels in them, And what the other BM's think about them.

My day of beautiful things

Today (despite its rough start) i am looking at life for what it is.......beautiful. Even this morning i went with my mother in law (to be) to pick up my things from my workplace (ex) and stopped to pay deposit on wedding flowers and grab a coffee. As we walked past a bakery i could smell the fresh bread and i just thought to myself i am so lucky. I have a beautiful life and the world is amazing.

 So i have been taking photo's of some beautiful things.

Well i lost 7 and a half inches from my body since i bought the dress!! YAYAY

Any-who i picked up the dress on Friday and it is amazing.....i can show you a picture if you leave your email in the comments (the future hubby reads this and we don't want him seeing it).

On a sadder note.....i got fired last night......via Text message!!! with no warnings........ and nothing but praise for my work so far.

I am a tad confused as you can imagine..

The day I nearly wet my pants

Today is the day.......I pick up my wedding dress!!!!!!! Soooooo amazingly excites you have no idea! I still have to have alterations etc but its here. For those of you who don't know, it's called Honour by Henry Roth (the only photos of it on the web are in silver and I bought ivory).

Ideas for centerpieces

So i have been umming and arring over teacups with flowers as centerpieces and are they too small for a table of ten so i have found a way to raise them up that is totally glam........BOOKS! vintage books! very eclectic and i am obsessed with reading, tell me what you think. (thanks to www.theknot.com.au for the idea and www.oncewed.com for the photo)

I am back to work today after a day off with food poisoning (turns out im not lactose intolerant) a bit of  hypochondria....eep. But one way to make you  feel better? Borders having a sale on photo frames and cushions so i went a bit nuts on the way home from the doctor (and in between throwing up).  Have posted images below because i love them so much :)

Sick as a dog

Sitting at the doctors after throwing up everywhere is not nice. Neither is sitting here for an hour.......but that is medical centers for you :-)

While sitting here I had a thought! Can you develop lactose intolerance later in life?
